Newark Community Church – Pastors
At NCC Christ is our Chief Shepherd and He has called under-shepherds to love, protect, guide, and care for His flock. We call the under-shepherds “Pastors”. Consistent with the Scriptures, the role of pastor is to oversee the total spiritual welfare and implementation of the vision and goals of the church, the local body of Christ. We are responsible to shepherd the flock, lead through example, teach and exhort, refute those who contradict truth, love the flock, and radically pray for them. It is our joy to serve Christ and His church.
Jeff Roets split his time growing up in Florida and California and later moved to Colorado where he met his wife Cara, in a church Bible study on the Song of Solomon. After being called into pastoral ministry, Jeff & Cara moved to Southern California where Jeff attended the Master’s Seminary because of the influence of John MacArthur’s preaching and writing ministry. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Master’s Seminary in 2010. Jeff & Cara have two beautiful children and love dazzling them with the love and grace of Christ. Jeff’s passion is to exalt the person and work of Jesus Christ by praising Him in worship, preaching the Bible by putting Him on display, praying boldly in His Name, and proclaiming His Gospel.
Jeff’s ministry is aimed at calling people away from the love of this world and into a satisfying and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Jeff’s joy is found in teaching the Bible, proclaiming the Gospel, and making disciples for the glory of Christ Jesus.
Vincent Wong serves as the associate pastor of Newark Community Church, shepherding the flock of God in service of the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
Originally from Sacramento, CA, Vincent came to faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. He graduated from CSU Sacramento and subsequently worked in hospital administration. Through Vincent’s faithful serving in his local church, the Lord called him into pastoral ministry. In 2011 he moved to LA to begin his training at The Master’s Seminary (M.Div. 2014), where he also served as a home Bible study leader at Grace Community Church.
God has prepared Vincent for ministry work by teaching him to love his wife, Selena. They have been married since 2010, and this ongoing lesson is more valuable than any other kind of training he’s received.
Vincent is devoted to equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12) and proclaiming Jesus Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that he may present everyone mature in Christ (Col. 1:28).
He enjoys reading, hiking, basketball, BBQ chicken, and spending time with Selena.
